The passed 12 days has been a hectic one but it was sure a fun adventure! We started our vacation flying to The Netherlands to visit family and stayed for a few days. While we were in there we of course visited the famous tulip fields. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME! I know shocking since I’m Dutch!
You might not know this, but I’m Dutch and American. Half though, my mom is Dutch and my dad is American. I was born in the Netherlands. So, I can speak and understand Dutch, my mom always spoke it to my sister and I ever since we were little. I always visit my Oma and my family and use to stay in Holland 6 months out of the year.
But that’s enough about me and some of my background, let me get back to the tulip fields. I must say the fields were stunning… just stunning! We visited De Tulperji a family owned farm. We did the tour which was great because we were able to learn all about the bulbs of the flowers. They are bulb growers not flower growers. De Tulperji not only grows tulip bulbs but also hydrangeas and daffodils. I would definitely recommend booking a tour though. We did a private tour which was amazing because we basically had the field to ourselves! The other reason why you should book a tour is because it’s actually illegal to trespass in gated fields, especially around Lisse and Voorhout. Please don’t go in the tulip fields without permission from the farmers, because you can damage the bulbs!
If you are planning on taking a trip the Holland next year durning tulip season I highly recommend visiting De Tulperji!
Note: Tulips only grow between the end of April and beginning of May. We were there May 2nd. Most of the fields were gone by then.
I picked up this super cute hat and jumpsuit from ASOS right before my trip. I was on the hunt for a wide brim straw hat and has such a hard time finding one. I think I ordered about 8 different ones before I fell in love with this one. It’s just perfect because it has an adjustable string inside to make it more fitted.
I opted for my custom made Tillyanna shopper tote, which has come in handy recently. I can’t get enough of it! I love it so much I’m thinking of purchasing the black version or maybe even the jersey material. You can shop any of Tillyanna’s pieces here.
My jumpsuit I spotted on Roxxsaurus youtube channel, and instantly fell in love with it! It worked perfectly with the tulip fields, I honestly couldn’t have picked a better outfit for the fields. This is such a flattering jumpsuit on any body type, its lightweight, and super comfortable. For size reference I’m wearing a size UK8.
You can shop my jumpsuit below which is just under £40!
