It’s no shocker, House of Harlow 1960 is one of my all time favorite brands. Well, House of Harlow 1960 turns 10 this year, and I wanted to share my love of the brand with all my readers if you’re not very fimilar with it.
House of Harlow 1960 was started in 2008 by Nicole Richie. Named after her daughter Harlow and her love for the 1960s. Nicole debuted the 50 piece costume jewelry at Kitson and Kitson’s online boutique. The first collection was a collaboration with Mouawad, a professional jewelry designer in L.A and Nicole herself. The line included cocktail rings, cuffs, necklaces, bracelets and headpieces. The prices started at $50. I remember like it was yesterday purchasing my first pieces from the line, which I still have to this day. I purchased the black starburst cocktail ring and matching necklace. In the summer of fall 2009, Nicole Richie collaborated with BeBe for a limited edition collection with House of Harlow 1960. Then in spring 2010 shoes were added, summer 2011 sunglasses, and fall 2011 bags were added. In 2014, the House of Harlow 1960 ready to wear collection launched with Pacsun. Along with the ready to wear collection, Nicole launched the House of Harlow 1960 home fragrance collection exclusively on Gilt.com. In 2016, Nicole Richie partnered with online retailer Revolve to continue her ready to wear collection, exclusively with them. In 2018, there was a small capsule collection with makeup brand Urban Decay, which you can also purchase on Revolve.
Over the years, my own personal collection has certainly grown and continues to grow as the line itself expands. I’m excited to see the brand get bigger each year and can’t wait to see what Nicole brings out next! I’m hoping more home pieces will be brought in, and maybe design some hats to add to the accessory line.
If you haven’t check out House of Harlow 1960 make sure you head over to Revolve.com and check out the collection!
